Number Cascade

Place digits so adjacent cells satisfy a target shape — like Kakuro, but with a flow system: each placed number becomes a "dam" that affects which sums become reachable above it.

Why build yet another puzzle site?

Most "brain game" sites are reskins of the same four apps. We got tired of opening a "new" puzzle only to find it's Simon Says with a different palette. So we asked: what's a meaningful twist?

The result is three small games with original mechanics that can't be found elsewhere. They train real cognitive skills, they run instantly in your browser, and they don't ask for your email.

About this site

What PuzzleForge is — and what it isn't

PuzzleForge is a small, independent project built by one developer who got frustrated with brain-game apps that look new but play identically. The goal is to ship puzzle games with a real, visible mechanic twist — something you can point at and say "this is why it's not the same as the app on your phone."

What you can use these games for

  • A 5-minute warm-up before focused work.
  • Daily practice on a specific mental skill (memory, arithmetic, pattern reasoning).
  • Showing a child or student what "working memory" actually feels like as a measurable game.
  • Stress relief — none of the games are violent, none require real-money purchases, none nag you to come back tomorrow.

Who it's for

Adults and older children who enjoy logic puzzles, sudoku fans who want something different, students preparing for tests that involve pattern recognition, and anyone who wants a calm, ad-light place to exercise their brain between tasks.

Limitations you should know about

  • This is not a clinical cognitive-training program. It will not raise your IQ or treat any medical condition. If you need help with memory, attention, or learning difficulties, please consult a qualified professional.
  • Stats are local. We don't sync scores across devices. If you clear your browser data, your records go with it.
  • No multiplayer, no leaderboards, no accounts. That's by design — fewer moving parts means fewer things that can break or surveil you.
  • The site runs JavaScript. If you have JS disabled, the games won't work. The site itself is still navigable with JS off.

How the games were designed

Each game went through about five iterations of internal playtesting before it shipped. The hardest design question wasn't the mechanics — it was the difficulty curve. Most puzzles fail by either being too easy for too long or jumping to impossible. We tune difficulty by changing structure (board size, rule depth) rather than just adding time pressure.

What we collect — and what we don't

The short version: PuzzleForge does not collect personal data from you. We do not run analytics scripts, we do not set our own cookies, and we do not require an account. The only third party involved in this site is Google AdSense, which may set advertising cookies when it serves an ad. That is described in detail below.

Data we collect directly: none

PuzzleForge does not run any first-party analytics. There is no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, no server-side request log of your activity on this site beyond the standard web-server logs (which we don't control or query for the purpose of identifying you). Your game scores are stored only in your own browser's localStorage and never transmitted to us.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through an ad interaction, please contact the relevant vendor directly (Google for AdSense).

  • Clear your browser's cookies and site data to remove all local game records and any advertising cookies.
  • Use your browser's "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal — AdSense respects the latter as of writing.
